SPT Brands has been a long time in the making. Shannon graduated from the University of Arkansas with a specialty degree in interior design. After a working in several industries including commercial painting and wall-covering, she eventually went out on her own. In 2001, Designs by Shannon was born as was her first child. A couple of years later her family grew as did her business and Designs by Shannon became Design Details, a small residential design firm. 2013 brought additional life changes and opened doors for her long-time dream of owning a retail shop. This store became Barrel & Board. While the dream of store ownership hasn’t fully died, the reality of running two full-time jobs and raising two teens at the same time proved to be too much. Simplification became a necessity. After closing the store in 2016, Shannon opened Barrel & Board Design where she now does full-time design for discerning clients.

We did a major remodel of an older house. Shannan at Barrel & Board helped with every step of the process from kitchen layout to exterior and interior paint colors to hardware choices. She is dependable and very easy to work with. She was able to figure out what I wanted when I didn't know. She helped with every detail - space planning, tile and marble choices, fireplace finish, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, trim, deck, interior and exterior doors, lighting and many more decisions. It is now my dream home!
